Pecan Pie Bars

  • Shortbread crust
  • 85 g unsalted butter at room temperature
  • 110 g flour
  • 75 g brown sugar
  • 1 3/4 cups (220 g) all-purpose flour, spooned and leveled
  • 1 pinch flower salt
  • Pecan pie filling
  • 2 small eggs
  • 80 g maple syrup
  • 10 g brown sugar
  • 20 g unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 1 pinch flower salt
  • 150 g roughly chopped pecans
  • 85 g chocolate chips


Shortbread crust


Preheat your oven to 175 C / 350 F degrees.


Combine butter and brown sugar for 3 minutes in your food processor until smooth.


Add flour and salt, combine until the dough comes together. Flatten the surface.


Pour in a baking pan lined with with parchment paper, allowing the parchment to extend an inch or two over the sides of the pan for easy removal of the bars once baked.


Bake for about 15 minutes or until the edges are slightly golden brown and the center is barely set. Do not over bake. Remove from the oven and let it cool for about 10 minutes.

Pecan pie filling


Une fois bien refroidi, vous pouvez découper vos barres chocolat et noix de pécan.


Meanwhile, whisk together eggs, maple syrup, brown sugar, melted butter, vanilla and salt until well combined.


Spread the chopped pecans and chocolate chips on the shortbread crust.


Pour the maple syrup and egg mixture over the top of the nuts and chips.


Bake for 25 minutes.


Remove the pan from the oven and let cool down for 10 minutes.


Transfer on a cooling rack and let cool down completely.


Slice into squares or bars.
